Tickle Your Tastebuds with Kolkata Street Chowmein

Try my Kolkata Street Style Chowmein. It’s more of an emotion than merely a food.
Try my recipe and savour the Kolkata Street Delicacy at home.
Boil noodles , strain and keep aside. For best results , put 1 tea spoon oil only till it’s cooked. Don’t over boil.
Chop the veggies besides onion into fine pieces. I have used shredded cabbage, carrot and also capsicum.
Slice onion into long thin slices.
Add salt to the shrimps and coat them well and allow to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Boil and keep aside shredded chicken.
Now scramble some eggs and pan fry the already boiled chicken and and keep aside.
Add oil in a non stick pan and sauté the vegetables over medium-Low heat for 5-7 minutes. To retain crunchiness, do not over cook.
Now add oil to the pan if needed and pan fry the prawns till cooked(over frying can make them hard)
Now turn on the stove on medium heat and add oil and the onions in a wok and sauté till translucent.
10. Add the veggies, eggs,shrimps and capsicum and mix well.
11. Season with salt, grounded pepper.
12.Add soy sauce and vinegar and give it a good mix by tossing the noodles well.
13.Check the seasoning and adjust if required 14. Add tomato ketch-up and spicy sauce.
15. Serve your Kolkata street noodles piping hot.
Tip: Adding oil while boiling noodles prevents noodles from sticking to the pan/wok. Also open running water on the bolied noodles.
