Gripped by wanderlust

How many lifetimes would it take to visit every single place you’ve ever dreamt of? For me, it would take hundreds of lifetimes. I guess, we will have to settle for just this one, and make the most of it! 😊😊

My tale cannot begin without the special mention of my father who had instilled this travel bug in me and my brother. Our younger days had been spent traveling with my father in various parts of India . He is an extremely passionate mountain lover, that’s why we have traveled extensively and explored the length and breadth of the Himalayas and most parts of India.

There were so many fascinating tales of our childhood. Those days , there were only analogue cameras unlike today’s digital world of photography. And to finish off the film, my dad used to plan another trip. Every single film was precious and needed to be planned and clicked judiciously. Sometimes dad used to disappear only to return with train tickets to surprise us. He would often say , “Traveling widens your mind and knowledge and your view of the world.”

Those days, there were not much luxury and we could only afford to journey in sleeper class in train. Our train journey from Howrah or Sealdah (the two big terminal stations in Kolkata) would begin with Jhal Muri, a mouth licking snack of Bengal made of puffed rice. Jhal muri is a famous crunchy munchy Indian snack which is quick & easy to make . It is made with puffed rice, cucumber, carrot, tomato, spices and the special ingredient is mustard oil.The flavors of this snack will tickle your taste buds.

Today, we are not restricted to only India , we had ventured to so many different countries of the world with so varied experiences. But, I would for ever cherish those enchanting experiences with my parents as a little girl.

#Happiness is living little moments of life!!
